The Tieflings of Olrar once had a great empire that reached across the northern and eastern coasts. When the Great Purge hit they were all but decimated. Forced to live in Tiefling districts and slums of other races’ cities, the Tieflings made what strides they could. Decades after the Purge, some Tieflings were kicked out of the cities they had tried to take refuge in and forced to wander the wastes of a scarred Olrar. These wandering clans would set-up camp in an area with some resources, but this would not last long. The Tiefling clans would have to move from location to location in order to find areas with enough resources to survive for a time.
The Malkut clan is one of many clans wandering the wastes searching for a place to call their new home. The elders of the clan had sent out four scouting parties as usual, but this season none returned. With supplies running low, the elders hand selected the most skilled men in their clan to venture forth and locate a suitable area for the next camp.
The scouting party consisted of Saroda, Vitto, and Rax. These three men chose to move north into the rocky terrain of the mountains in central Olrar in hopes of finding clean water. Saroda and Rax contracted Rack-Fever but continued pressing on into the rocky terrain; Vitto noticed a pair of footprints above the ravine they had originally searched and followed it into a cavern on the side of one of the mountains.
Once inside the cavern, the party could hear the sound of rushing water. Hoping to find some source of fresh water and a possible location for their village, the team rushed down a small passageway and accidentally made too much noise. The noise caused the slavers who had set up camp to notice these intruders and thus began a skirmish inside a small cavern…
The battle was fierce and bloody, but once the blades and spells stopped the Malkut clansmen emerged victorious. The scouting party set off the flare and the tribe made their way to their new home.
Two decades later, the tribe now had set-up its city in the bluffs and mountainsides giving them advantages to thrive. The Malkut tribe had become prosperous and passed on their knowledge of the lands to the younger generations in order to preserve their heritage. Now the city of Oditire is secure and has a standing force of a few hundred, highly skilled warriors who have mastery over blade and spell. The city trades openly with tribes they once battled in the dark times, and with larger cities looking for rare imports.
